The film tells the story of a family who moves from a village to the city. Fatma moves to Istanbul after her husband is killed in a blood feud. There, she starts working as a doorkeeper in an apartment building. Her eldest daughter, Halime, is in a relationship with Rıza, a wealthy married man.
