A boy named Gon was on the verge of death when gills grew on his body, allowing him to breathe again. Kang-ha and his grandpa rescue Gon. They grow into a peculiar family together. Kang-ha persecutes Gon who cut off from the world, but he send Gon out into the world to protect him.
