In 1987, Su Ping-kun was found guilty of armed robbery and attempted murder, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. In the era of Martial Law, he endured abuse and torture from the authority. In 2000, Su received a presidential pardon but still remained guilty in Taiwan's legal system.
