Tanzania, 1895. Muna is born Masai. She is different. Her skin is white like the moon, her hair as pale as ivory. Muna is albino. Villagers regard her as bewitched and decide to banish her. Muna grows up alone; her only mates are her mother and elephant, Aysha.
