Tom, an American boy receives a box of tulips from the Netherlands. In it he finds a book about the Netherlands with a letter in it. The letter was written by one Katrina (Trijntje) Schulder from Volendam. Tom dreams of travel to the Netherlands and visits Katrina in her village.
