Tom Dawson is fatally struck in the head by a golf ball hit by Peter Newton. His son, Harry Dawson, a Scotland Yard inspector on leave, does not believe it was an accident. He arranges to meet Peter Newton, but finds him murdered in his car outside his apartment.
