In 1927 Berlin, Freder Fredersen navigates a stratified metropolis where technology and class divide humanity. When eccentric inventor C.A. Rotwang unleashes the mysterious Maria, she predicts a savior who will unite the warring upper and lower districts before Johann 'Joh' Fredersen crushes her existence to preserve order. Now, as steel giants loom over starving crowds, Freder must choose between his father's cold utopia or risking revolution for a world where one heart might beat for all.
